A UV flatbed printer machine prints directly onto rigid flat surfaces using piezo inkjet technology. UV LEDs cure the ink instantly on contact, making it scratch-resistant and waterproof immediately after printing. Unlike roll-to-roll printers, the flatbed bed holds objects stationary while the print head moves over them.
2. Do I need coating or pre-treatment before printing?
Most surfaces print without any pre-treatment. Glass and some metals benefit from a UV primer spray for better adhesion, which is a quick 1-step wipe. Acrylic, wood, PVC, leather, and phone cases typically print with no prep at all. We include a starter pre-treatment kit with every UV flatbed printer machine.
3. Can a UV flatbed printer machine print white ink?
Yes — all our UV flatbed printer machines include dedicated white ink channels. White ink can be configured as an underbase (print white first, color on top for dark substrates), a topcoat (for backlighting effects on transparent acrylic), or a selective spot layer. Opacity is typically 85–95% in two passes.
