CHOOSE YOUR PRINTING METHOD

UV DTF or UV Flatbed — Which One Do You Need?

Both use UV-curable ink and deliver the same vibrant, durable output. The difference is in how and where the ink is applied.

UV DTF Printer

Print on Film · Transfer to Any Surface

UV DTF printers print CMYK + White + Varnish ink onto a two-layer AB transfer film. After printing, peel the A film and apply the B film sticker directly to any smooth hard surface — glass, metal, ceramic, acrylic, plastic, wood — with no heat press. For 3D imitation embroidery (Type 3), heat-press the film onto fabric.

UV Flatbed Printer

Print Directly on the Object

UV flatbed printers print directly onto the final object — no transfer film, no intermediate step. The substrate is placed on the print table (or rotary jig for cylinders), and the print head deposits UV ink that cures instantly under LED lamps. A permanent, surface-bonded print that becomes part of the object itself.

FAQs About UV Printing

UV printing uses UV-curable ink deposited by an inkjet printhead and instantly cured by UV LED lamps — forming a permanent polymer bond with the substrate. Unlike regular inkjet printing that dries by evaporation, UV ink cures in milliseconds, giving superior scratch resistance and adhesion on hard surfaces regular inkjet cannot bond to.

UV printers print on virtually any hard surface: acrylic, wood, MDF, glass, metal (aluminum, steel, anodized), ceramic, tile, PVC, foam board, leather, and phone cases. UV DTF printers extend this to any smooth surface via transfer film — including surfaces too small or irregular to load into a flatbed.

A UV DTF printer prints onto a two-layer AB transfer film. After printing, the A film is peeled and the B film sticker applied to any smooth hard surface — no heat press except for Type 3 embroidery patches. A UV flatbed printer prints directly onto the final object on the print bed.

Type 1 (Standard UV stickers — peel and apply to any hard surface, no heat press), Type 2 (Gold & metallic effects — adds gold or silver foil shimmer via a built-in foil spindle), and Type 3 (3D imitation embroidery — multi-layer varnish stacking creates raised tactile patches heat-pressed onto fabric).

UV-cured prints on hard substrates are rated for 3–5+ years outdoor durability without additional coating. UV inks are inherently resistant to UV light fading, moisture, and most common chemicals. For extended outdoor use beyond 5 years, a UV-resistant clear coat is recommended.

Yes. All Xinflying UV printers include a dedicated white ink channel as standard. White ink is used as an opaque base layer on clear, translucent, or dark substrates. It can also be used for frosted effects or specialty finishes.

Zero. UV printing has no minimum order. There are no printing plates, screens, or setup costs — each job is as economical as a batch of thousands. Ideal for print-on-demand, custom order fulfilment, and personalized product businesses.

No. Xinflying UV printers use UV LED lamps and solvent-free UV-curable inks — no harmful solvent emissions, no ozone generation, no special ventilation. Safe to operate in home studios, small offices, and retail premises.
