XINFLYING Replace Doctor Blade & Ink Pad

Applicable Model: Universal

Video Tutorial

Replace the wiper blade and ink pad in the T604 maintenance station. The ink pad is the cap top assembly beneath the printhead. Preserve the blade orientation and reconnect the two hoses to their original positions.

Required items: Replacement wiper blade and ink pad, M3 hex socket screwdriver, screwdriver for the blade and pad screws, and scissors if a hose cannot be pulled off.

Step 1. Remove the Wiper Blade Assembly

1.1 Position the carriage to provide access to the maintenance station and switch off the printer before handling the components.

1.2 Use the M3 hex socket screwdriver to remove the three mounting screws that secure the wiper base to the maintenance station. Lift out the blade and base assembly (See Figure 1.1).

Step 3. Remove the Old Ink Pad

3.1 Unscrew the four mounting screws around the ink pad and lift the pad to access its underside (See Figure 3.1, left).

3.2 Note the positions of the two hoses connected underneath the pad, then pull the hoses off their fittings (See Figure 3.1, right).

3.3 If a hose cannot be pulled off, cut it close to the old pad fitting with scissors to preserve the remaining hose length.

4.2 Place the new pad in its original mounting position and align its four fixing holes (See Figure 4.1, left).

4.3 Reinstall and tighten all four mounting screws to secure the pad in place (See Figure 4.1, right).
